A Special Moment That i Enjoyed With My Family

A Special Moment That i Enjoyed With My Family~

There was this one time when my family went to Bali, a wonderful and exotic island. We stayed there for three days and two nights, and we had a whale of a time over there.

The most special occasion of the trip was when we went for white water rafting. It was thrilling and exhilarating. Before the rafting, we went for a sumptious lunch at this restaurant called 'Babi Oka' which served barbecued pork with rice. Even though it was very spicy, i could taste a hint of balinese tradition behind that serving of rice. Then, the van from the white water rafting company picked us up from there. We didn't expect to be sitting in that van for almost half an hour. I thought that this would be an awesome time to interact with my dad, mum, and brothers. So I kick-started the discussion with a topic. 'Do you thing white water rafting will be scary?' I blurted. Then came in loads of responses. This got quite intriguing and it felt like a blink of an eye to reach the rafting site. We immediately changed into our swim wear, put on our life jackets, picked up a majestic looking oar, and scurried frantically to the rafts which was about two hundred metres downhill.

When we arrived at our cosy looking rafts, we were greeted by a friendly boatsman. He looked very broad and muscular. I felt more secure as he would be the one guiding the boat. We set 'sail' on our journey along the forty-five-minute bumpy course. There were many thrilling downhill mini waterfalls and rapids. It was a hell of a ride. This was great family time because we worked together as a team in tandem with the beats of the boatsman. Along the journey, we also admired beautiful scenic views such as this five-star hotel along the course and the lush greenery. There were also birds chirping and a few disturbing scenes of people bathing in the river. I also felt a special bond between my family and I during the course of the journey and that moment was so very special.

Towards the end of the journey, the boatsman even 'pranked' us by hitting his oar against the river causing a loud, sharp noise. My mother bursted ' What in tarnation!' He lied to us saying that there were head hunters and we panicked until my mom recalled that he saw a glimpse of him hitting the river with his oar. We all laughed. At the end, we bided farewell to the boatman. We tipped him about twenty thousand Rupiah which was about three Singapore dollars. We threw in our life jackets into this bucket-like thing. Then we headed back to our private van which brought us safely to the hotel.
